Now true, I do have a free slot on Video 4 and could hook up my VCR to play through this way, but I of course should not have to.

Second, I also took a video cable and fed it from the VCR to the VIDEO 2 on the front of my set and sure enough I was able to get a picture from the VCR this way. The VCR could send its signal to a TV set with a speaker. VCRs are analogue, it depends on what inputs the TV has, if it has such as yellow/red/white RCA in then no problem. I first took the cable going into the TV and sent it to a small TV/VCR combo that I have, and it worked perfectly fine on that. An AV amp with optical or HDMI would be preferable. Audio connections would depend on your amplifier and the available input options. I made sure and did some testing and verified that the VCR is in fact working. I can record the video, timer and all of that. I tried newer rca cables, and also another input on the TV set, still no sound, just picture. When i go to the vcr input on my TV set, I am able to see video, but no sound. The thing is, when I hit the TV/VTR button I got the black screen and no signal message.
