If the picture from your VCR is filling up the whole TV screen, then go into your TV’s Picture. Watch in 4:3: VHS tapes aren’t made for widescreen TVs. If you have a poor picture quality, adjust the picture settings, and disable unnecessary features, like motion smoothing. Otherwise it looks like I would have to of course call the serviceman to come and take a look at it. Calibrate Your TV’s Picture: All TVs need to be calibrated. Has anyone else incurred such a problem with this set or another SOny and has a thought or solution as to what they had to do. This has never occurred before with the set. 4 On the VCR I also tried switching the VCR to ch.3 and that resulted the same. Yes on both the VCR and NES I made sure that they were set to ch.
What worries me even more is that I tried my Nintendo which the only way I can play through the TV is through the cable since it has an RF unit and sure enough it did the same thing of no signal.

Now true, I do have a free slot on Video 4 and could hook up my VCR to play through this way, but I of course should not have to.
Second, I also took a video cable and fed it from the VCR to the VIDEO 2 on the front of my set and sure enough I was able to get a picture from the VCR this way. The VCR could send its signal to a TV set with a speaker. VCRs are analogue, it depends on what inputs the TV has, if it has such as yellow/red/white RCA in then no problem. I first took the cable going into the TV and sent it to a small TV/VCR combo that I have, and it worked perfectly fine on that. An AV amp with optical or HDMI would be preferable. Audio connections would depend on your amplifier and the available input options. I made sure and did some testing and verified that the VCR is in fact working. You could split the HDMI output from the V+ box via an HDMI repeater or matrix so that you can switch between the TV and the projector while connecting the VCR SCART output of the V+ box to your VCR. So, basically I just turn on channel 4 on the TV and press play to watch a tape. I have my VCR set up through the main cable line, so the cable first goes to the VCR and then to the set. your VCR output to feed two TV sets at the same time, with virtually no signal.
I can record the video, timer and all of that. I tried newer rca cables, and also another input on the TV set, still no sound, just picture. When i go to the vcr input on my TV set, I am able to see video, but no sound. The thing is, when I hit the TV/VTR button I got the black screen and no signal message. You avoid signal loss incurred by using splitters. I am at my wits end.I have a vhs vcr hooked up to my TV lcd set via rca cables. When I turned the set back on, I wanted to make sure I had everything programmed tonight on the VCR before heading to work. My wife played one of here workout tapes fine and turned everything off. However, this morning the strangest thing happened. I have had my Sony since October and love the set a lot. I'll try to explain this as best as I can.
